Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Pre-Order Deals & Early Access

The new Lego Batman game launches very soon, and here is how and where to secure the best pre-order deals, including the option to start playing right now. Traveller's Tales, known for producing Lego video games annually, has adapted to the industry's need for longer development cycles. After four years since Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, their latest release, Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight, proves to be worth the wait. It offers a solid Lego game experience and serves as the next best thing to a new Batman: Arkham title. If you have not yet secured a copy, this guide breaks down the best places to purchase it ahead of launch.

Release Date and Platforms

Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight is scheduled to launch on Friday, May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned, with pre-orders available at retailers, though it currently lacks a release window.

Early Access Availability

Yes, early access is available, allowing you to play the game right now. However, this perk is exclusive to those who pre-order the more expensive deluxe edition.

Deluxe Edition Contents

The deluxe edition includes the base game, early access, and the Legacy Collection, which bundles three DLC packs: the Arkham Trilogy pack, the Party Music pack, and the Batman Beyond pack. Each pack contains seven extra suits (one for each playable character), a new Batmobile, and five Batcave props. Additionally, the Mayhem Collection, available in September, includes a new story mission where you play as the Joker and Harley Quinn, plus a Sinister pack with seven more suits, a Batmobile, and five Batcave props.

Best Pre-Order Deals

The standard edition retails digitally for £59.99 on consoles and PC, but physical copies are cheaper. Amazon and Very offer physical copies for £45.99, while Hit sells them for £45.85. The deluxe edition is priced at £79.99 digitally, but you can purchase it from Amazon, Very, Argos, or Smyths for £61.99, or from Hit for £61.85. Pre-ordering either edition grants an additional Batman suit based on his appearance in the 1980s comic book The Dark Knight Returns.

Inspiration and Story

Unlike Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which adapted all nine mainline Star Wars movies, Lego Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight blends various Batman media. It incorporates elements from live-action films like the 1989 Tim Burton movie and 2022's The Batman, as well as original comics, the 1990s cartoon, and other Batman video games to craft its own narrative.

Multiplayer Support

The entire game supports two-player co-op, but only locally; online co-op is not available.
