Around 70 firefighters and ten fire engines are responding to a blaze at a commercial premises in Golders Green, north-west London. The fire is believed to be behind a Jewish supermarket called Kosher Kingdom on Golders Green Road.
Fire Service Response
The London Fire Brigade said it received the first of 33 calls at 6:47 AM on Wednesday. Crews from Finchley, Willesden, West Hampstead, and surrounding fire stations have been dispatched, including a 32-metre turntable ladder.
Smoke and Road Closures
The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke. Residents are advised to keep windows and doors shut. Road closures are in place on Golders Green Road near Beverley Gardens. People are urged to avoid the area.
The building is three storeys, with a shop on the ground floor and premises above. The cause of the blaze is currently unknown. There is no report of this incident being linked to recent antisemitic attacks in the area.
