Eurostar has confirmed the cancellation of multiple train services between London St Pancras International and Paris Gare du Nord this week due to extreme temperatures. What has Eurostar said about the cancellations?
In a statement, Eurostar said: 'Due to expected adverse weather on the Eurostar network, your train is cancelled. We’re so sorry for the disruption and any inconvenience caused. We understand how much this affects your travel plans, and we’re here to help you find the best way forward.' The company also urged customers to check eurostar.com or the Eurostar app for updates.
What to do if your Eurostar train has been cancelled
Affected passengers have several options. They can exchange their booking for another time or date free of charge, provided they travel in the same class. Alternatively, they can cancel and claim a refund or an e-voucher valid for 12 months from the date of the disrupted journey. Refunds cover the ticket value but not booking or exchange fees, and processing may take up to 28 days. Customers have three months from their original travel date to choose an option.
According to Eurostar, 'Please keep an eye on eurostar.com or the Eurostar app for further updates.' The heatwave has also forced dozens of UK schools to close and caused commuter chaos, highlighting the country's limited infrastructure for extreme heat.
