Following the crash, which sheared the nose off the jet, the controller admitted to a colleague, "I messed up," while dealing with the earlier emergency situation. The other worker responded supportively, stating, "No man, you did the best you could." The aircraft, traveling from Montreal to LaGuardia with approximately 72 passengers and four crew members on board, was moving at 131 mph down the runway, according to data from FlightRadar24.
