British Airways Launches £2 Flight Deal to European Hotspots

In a move designed to brighten the winter season, British Airways has unveiled an exceptional travel offer, providing flights to two sought-after European destinations for just £2. This promotion, however, is not universally accessible; it is specifically tailored for members of The British Airways Club who possess sufficient Avios points.

Exclusive Access to Sun-Drenched Destinations

The deal enables eligible travelers to jet off from London City Airport to either Madrid, Spain, or Toulon, France. Madrid, celebrated for its iconic architecture, lush parks, and vibrant cultural scene, offers a classic European escape. Meanwhile, Toulon, a coastal gem making its debut on British Airways' summer route map, boasts one of Europe's most picturesque harbors, perfect for a scenic getaway.

To secure these bargain flights, passengers must pay £2 plus a specified number of Avios points: 21,500 for Toulon and 28,000 for Madrid. Each booking includes 23kg of checked luggage, enhancing the value of this limited-time promotion.

Expanding Loyalty Program Initiatives

British Airways introduced its Avios-Only flight program in 2023, and since then, it has operated 48 such flights to 16 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Notable previous destinations include Cape Town, Barbados, and Marrakesh. The upcoming return flight from Madrid to London will mark the 50th dedicated Avios-Only service, underscoring the airline's commitment to rewarding loyal customers.

Colm Lacy, British Airways' Chief Commercial Officer, commented, "We're excited to release these latest Avios-Only flights to two top leisure destinations for summer. These flights are always incredibly popular, and we're delighted to give our loyal customers even more opportunities to enjoy the benefits of The British Airways Club."

Adam Daniels, CEO of IAG Loyalty, added, "Whilst it's not been too long since our last Avios-Only flight, we are excited to be starting the year by announcing another two flights on London City Airport's hottest new routes to Toulon and Madrid. With all seats onboard only available to book with Avios, the initiative shows the continued power of loyalty and opens up greater redemption opportunities for customers during the peak summer months."
