Vanessa Feltz 'storms out' after Channel 5 show axed

Vanessa Feltz was left 'furious' after discovering her Channel 5 talk show was cancelled after just one year, according to reports. The eponymous program, described as 'raw, unfiltered, authentic and personal', aired on weekdays at 2pm, featuring the 64-year-old TV personality promising 'fiery discussions, a good giggle and plenty of afternoon gossip'.

However, the daily dose of afternoon fun did not make the cut for a return to screens. Channel 5 confirmed the show would end on July 17 'due to afternoon schedule changes'. The network stated: 'We thank Vanessa and her team at ITN for 18 months of warm, witty, wise and searingly honest shows. Vanessa remains a valued member of the 5 family, and we are discussing future projects together.'

Sources close to the situation claimed Vanessa was left 'blindsided' by the decision and stormed out of the studios in a fury when discussions broke down. An insider told the Daily Mail: 'Vanessa was brought into a meeting after her show came off air this week. She had no idea what the meeting was about and certainly didn't expect to be told it was not being renewed. She feels so blindsided but also let down by bosses.'

Alongside reportedly low ratings, sources claim the show struggled to control regular prank calls during the phone-in segment, and strategies to stop them were ineffective. The Celebrity Big Brother star is said to have 'given her all to the show' and is 'truly devastated, but also for her team too, many of whom will now need to find new jobs'.

The show's tenure was not without controversy. One moment became the fourth most complained about on British TV in 2025 when Karen Millen criticised breastfeeding beyond six months, garnering thousands of Ofcom complaints. It also struggled to attract an audience, with its debut episode securing only 83,000 viewers, as reported by the Evening Standard. At the time, Vanessa said: 'I know I've upset a lot of your viewers and that was not my intention'.

Vanessa left her 33-year stint on This Morning in 2025 and launched her rebooted talk show shortly after. She told Metro that she would have liked to stay on the ITV daytime show as well: 'I almost believed I'd be able to do that, but I think apparently, it's not the way it's done… but I'd have done it, and I think they would have been happy for me to do it too.'

It remains unclear what Vanessa's next move will be. Metro has contacted her representatives and Channel 5 for comment.
