Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino coming to UK after nearly a decade
Unicorn Frappuccino finally coming to UK Starbucks

Starbucks is bringing its iconic Unicorn Frappuccino to the United Kingdom for the first time, nearly a decade after the drink became a viral sensation in the United States. The limited-time beverage will be available at participating UK stores from August 15 to 17, 2026, the company announced on Instagram.

The drink that sparked a frenzy

Originally launched in April 2017, the Unicorn Frappuccino was available in the US, Canada, and Mexico for just four days. The drink features a sweet and tart blend of creamy mango flavors layered with a tangy blue drizzle, topped with whipped cream and a pink and blue powdered topping. It quickly became a social media phenomenon, inspiring nail art, hairstyles, and even DIY versions at home.

Starbucks announced the UK release on its Instagram page with the caption: “Something magical is coming.” Fans reacted with excitement and disbelief. “I swear if you’re lying,” wrote one commenter. “Praise the lord,” added another. “Oh, we only waited 10 years,” complained one fan. Another joked: “I like need to try that but lowkey kinda scared.”

Employee concerns

While customers are eager, Starbucks employees have expressed anxiety about the return. The drink is notoriously difficult to make, requiring multiple layers and a special powdered topping. “I’m honestly horrified as a Starbucks barista,” one staff member wrote online. “You don’t understand how complicated the menu has gotten and how fast they keep adding new drinks… it’s stressful when they do drops like this,” explained another employee.

In 2017, fans described the taste as “liquid gummy worms and popsicles” and “a whole rainbow of different flavors.” The drink was inspired by Instagram’s “unicorn food” trend, which involves dyeing food in bright colors or adding unicorn-themed decorations.

What else is coming?

Alongside the Frappuccino, Starbucks will also launch a Unicorn Cake Pop in UK stores. The cake pop is a vanilla cake covered in white chocolate, with chocolate ears, a white chocolate unicorn horn, colorful sprinkles, black icing eyelashes, and rosy icing cheeks. The drink recently made an appearance at the Coachella music festival in April 2026.

The Unicorn Frappuccino will only be available for three days, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. Starbucks has not announced any plans for a permanent addition to the menu.
