Three London restaurants have been added to the Michelin Guide in June 2026, marking a significant achievement for the city's dining scene. The new entries are Burro in Covent Garden, Taq in Notting Hill, and Mazarine in Mayfair. These additions are based on assessments by Michelin's anonymous inspectors, who evaluate restaurants on quality ingredients, mastery of flavor and cooking techniques, consistency, and the chef's personality reflected in the cuisine.

Burro, Covent Garden

Burro is the latest venture from Conor Gadd, chef co-owner of Islington's popular pasta spot Trullo. The restaurant focuses on classic Italian dishes made with premium ingredients. The menu includes Venetian chicken liver bruschetta, fried artichokes with bottarga and chili, tagliatelle with duck and porcini ragù, and vitello al burro—veal cooked in butter.

Taq, Notting Hill

Taq, formerly known as Taqueria, has undergone a major renovation and rebranding. With Jackson Boxer of Brunswick House and culinary director Eduardo Yishima (CDMX Tacos, Side Hustle) on board, the Mexican restaurant now offers a new menu of tacos, tostadas, and quesadillas. A standout is a special taco inspired by Dove's limited-edition cheeseburger.

Mazarine, Mayfair

Mazarine is a coastal French seafood restaurant that opened near the Mandarin Oriental on Hanover Square. It offers fine dining under executive chef Thierry Laborde, a protégé of Alain Ducasse. The menu features baby octopus Provençal-style, bluefin tuna tartare, and whole baked sea bass in a salted crust.

Being added to the Michelin Guide puts these restaurants in contention for a Michelin star, which are awarded annually. The guide is updated monthly based on inspector feedback. According to Michelin, restaurants must demonstrate quality ingredients, mastery of flavor and cooking techniques, consistency, and the chef's personality to be included.
