Newcastle United have adopted a firm transfer stance regarding Bruno Guimaraes and Lewis Hall, insisting the duo are not for sale despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United respectively. However, the Magpies are open to offers for three other first-team players as they continue their summer rebuild.
Guimaraes and Hall deemed not for sale
According to The Athletic, Newcastle 'insist' that Brazil international Guimaraes is not available, while they view Hall as 'important to their long-term plans.' Arsenal have been linked with Guimaraes, while Manchester United are reportedly keen on left-back Hall. The Magpies have already generated nearly £170 million from the sales of Anthony Gordon to Barcelona and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham this summer, but they are reluctant to lose any more key players.
Newcastle are actually looking to sign a full-back to add competition rather than lose Hall. However, any stance could be tested by an enormous bid, though it would take an eye-watering amount to convince Newcastle to part with either player.
Potential departures for Willock, Murphy, and Pope
There could be moves for other regulars if interest emerges. Joe Willock and Jacob Murphy are both entering the final 12 months of their contracts at St James' Park, and offers would be considered for either. Additionally, Newcastle are looking to sign a goalkeeper this summer, which would make Nick Pope available to leave. However, no concrete approaches have been made for Willock, Murphy, or Pope so far.
Newcastle's summer recruitment focused on youth
Newcastle have already brought in goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen from Reims, but the 20-year-old is not expected to be first choice. Winger Bazoumana Toure has arrived from Hoffenheim as a replacement for Gordon, and midfielder Sean Steur has been signed from Ajax. Toure is 20 while Steur is 18, highlighting the club's focus on future talent.
