McVitie’s is about to launch a ‘seriously moreish’ twist on a classic snack. The new Jaffa Cookie combines the beloved Jaffa Cake concept with a soft-baked chocolate chip cookie, half-dipped in milk chocolate and featuring a tangy orange centre.
A New Twist on a British Icon
Since McVitie’s launched Jaffa Cakes in 1927, the debate over whether they are biscuits or cakes has divided the nation. Now, the brand has introduced the Jaffa Cookie, a product that blurs the lines even further. A spokesperson for McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes said: ‘Everyone loves a Jaffa Cake, everyone loves a cookie, and Jaffa Cookies bring together the best of both worlds. It’s the iconic Jaffa flavour people know and love, wrapped up in a soft-baked cookie that’s perfect for those moments when only a cookie will do. Although this one really can be dunked.’
Availability and Pricing
The Jaffa Cookie has launched exclusively in Asda Express stores, priced at £2.50 per packet. It will roll out across all Asda stores nationwide on June 25, with other major supermarkets stocking it from July 20.
Other New McVitie’s Products
McVitie’s has also introduced a Jaffa Cake-Digestive hybrid, featuring a classic Digestives wheatmeal biscuit base with orange-flavour caramel and milk chocolate coating. Additionally, the brand has launched White Chocolate Hobnobs, available at Morrison’s for £2.25 per 232g pack, with wider supermarket availability from July 13. Penguin Bites, baked snack crackers in lightly salted, cheese, and salt and vinegar flavours, are now stocked in major UK retailers for £2 per 125g box.
