Man Utd given hope as Real Madrid open to Tchouameni sale

Manchester United have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Aurelien Tchouameni, as Real Madrid are now reportedly open to a 'major sale' in midfield this summer.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the Madrid hierarchy has softened its stance and is now willing to part with a key midfielder to fund new signings. Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde are among the players who could be offloaded before the new season.

United have already secured a £35 million deal for Atalanta's Ederson, but manager Michael Carrick is eager to add another midfielder to his squad. Talks have begun for Mateus Fernandes, though United are reluctant to meet West Ham's £80 million valuation. Tchouameni has long been on United's shortlist, but the move was initially considered difficult as Madrid gave no indication they would sell.

Madrid are looking to raise funds to fulfill Jose Mourinho's request for a new box-to-box midfielder. Both Mateus Fernandes and Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez are admired by Mourinho, and Madrid are in talks to sign one of them.

Madrid have already strengthened Mourinho's squad with Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konate. Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries is also set to join after Madrid agreed to trigger his €20 million release clause.

Tchouameni recently featured for France in their 3-1 World Cup win over Senegal.
