Katie Price has risked stirring up trouble with her husband Lee Andrews after admitting during a radio interview that ex Gareth Gates 'still looks fit'. The former glamour model, 48, made the comments on Hits Radio's Breakfast Show while discussing her new Sky documentary, Nothing To Hide.
Family Calls Gareth Gates 'the One Who Got Away'
Price revealed that her family has long referred to the Pop Idol singer, now 41, as the one who got away. In the documentary, Gates agreed to be interviewed for the first time about their brief relationship in 2002, when Price was 24 and newly single, and Gates was 17. Price took his virginity while pregnant with her first child, Harvey.
Gates had previously denied the encounter and believed Price had sold the story for publicity. However, in the documentary, he finally learned the truth. 'Imagine you was with someone 25 years ago and then suddenly they ghost you and you don't really know why,' Price told presenters Fleur East, Will Best and James Barr. 'And now I know why. People in his head and he thought I'd set something up when I actually hadn't. Then 25 years later, he finds out it was nothing to do with me and you see his reaction.'
Price Hints at Lingering Chemistry
Hinting that the chemistry might still be there, Price added: 'Put it this way, if I was his girlfriend, watching what he said, I wouldn't be happy. Am I right or wrong? And he still looks fit I must say…' Gates is currently in a relationship with West End star Allana Taylor, whom he met while working together on a pantomime and began dating in 2023. The couple recently posted loved-up snaps at Mighty Hoopla Festival.
At the launch event for the documentary, Price shared: 'The shock on his face and the shock on mine. Everyone was like, “You and Gareth, that was the one that got away!”'
Current Husband Lee Andrews Recently Freed from Dubai Jail
Price's current husband, Lee Andrews, was recently freed after a stint in a Dubai jail. Price claimed the 'prison food' he ate during his few weeks inside is causing him to lose his hair. The docuseries was filmed before Andrews came into the picture and sees Price discussing ex relationships, as well as her children speaking on the impact her lifestyle had on them.
Princess and Junior Andre, Price's children with ex-husband Peter Andre, broke down in tears in the documentary as they discussed her drug use, saying she 'wasn't being a mum' during that time. The kids had to move in with their father. Peter declined to be featured in the documentary but shared a statement explaining his decision.
