Giant World Cup Ball Rolls Through San Salvador Streets

A giant inflatable ball used as a promotional display for the World Cup broke free from its moorings during heavy rain and strong winds in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, on Sunday. The oversized ball careened through the streets of the Zona Rosa neighborhood, bouncing in front of startled drivers and pedestrians.

The incident occurred as severe weather swept through the city, causing the ball to detach from its structure and roll uncontrollably. Witnesses captured the moment on video, showing the ball bouncing off vehicles and buildings before coming to a stop.

No injuries were reported, but the runaway ball caused minor damage to property. Local authorities have since secured the display and are investigating the incident.
