Amazon's Prime Day has returned, and its streaming rivals are offering competitive discounts. As an entertainment journalist, I have curated the best streaming deals from Prime Video's competitors, including HBO Max, Apple TV, AMC+, Disney+, Hulu, Paramount+, and Starz. The summer TV season is heating up, with new seasons of HBO Max's House of the Dragon and Apple TV's Ted Lasso arriving just in time for these promotions. Many deals run for only two months, making them ideal for sampling smaller streamers without long-term commitment.
HBO Max Deal
New and lapsed HBO Max customers can get the Basic tier with ads for $6.58 per month for 12 months, down from $10.99. To lock in this rate, you must prepay $78.99 for the full year, a 40% drop from the usual $109.99. However, the Black Friday deal was cheaper at $2.99 per month. HBO Max can afford to play hardball thanks to the new season of House of the Dragon and the upcoming DC series Lanterns debuting in August.
Apple TV Deal
Apple TV is not directly offering a deal, but Prime Video provides it as an add-on channel for $5.99 per month for two months, after which it reverts to $12.99. This covers the return of Ted Lasso for its fourth season in August, plus the recently premiered thriller Cape Fear starring Amy Adams and Javier Bardem.
AMC+ Deal
Prime Video offers AMC+ as an add-on channel for $0.99 per month for two months, down from $7.99. After two months, the price returns to $7.99. AMC+ features The Walking Dead spinoffs and the new series The Vampire Lestat, a continuation of Interview with the Vampire.
Disney+ and Hulu Deal
Disney+ and Hulu with ads are bundled for $11.99 per month for six months, a $1 discount from the regular $12.99. Hulu will be integrated into Disney+ later this year, but currently offers shows like The Bear and Only Murders in the Building, both with new seasons this summer. Disney+ features X-Men '97, bringing Marvel's mutants back after a two-year hiatus.
Paramount+ Deal
Paramount+ offers both standard and premium tiers for $0.99 per month for two months through June 25. The premium tier includes Showtime's original shows and films. Subscribers can cancel anytime. This deal coincides with the final two episodes of the Yellowstone spinoff's inaugural season.
Starz Deal
Starz is available as a Prime Video add-on for $0.99 per month for two months, down from $11.99. Its summer lineup includes the final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, the psychological thriller The Listeners, and the crime drama Fightland.
