Paris Saint-Germain's plans to revamp their attack this summer have given Arsenal renewed hope in their pursuit of a forward reinforcement. The Gunners, fresh off a landmark Premier League title triumph, are seeking to add more firepower to a squad that leaned heavily on defensive solidity last season.
Arsenal's Forward Line Shake-Up
With the futures of Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus uncertain, Mikel Arteta's squad could see several attacking vacancies by the start of the new campaign. A left-sided winger is the top priority, with Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers emerging as a prime candidate.
However, Arsenal are also closely monitoring Bradley Barcola's situation at PSG. According to The Independent, the French champions would prefer to retain the 23-year-old, but that stance could soften if they land their own attacking targets.
PSG's Summer Shopping List
The back-to-back Champions League winners retain interest in Rogers and another Arsenal target, Julian Alvarez. Barcola, meanwhile, has been a key figure under Luis Enrique but has slipped down the pecking order in recent months due to the strength of a star-studded forward line featuring Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The 23-year-old was limited to a substitute role for France in their 3-1 World Cup win over Senegal on Tuesday, but he made an immediate impact, scoring a clever dinked finish just two minutes after replacing club teammate Dembele.
Barcola's Contract Situation
PSG signed Barcola from Lyon for €45 million three years ago. He is under contract until 2028 and had hoped to begin extension talks earlier this year, but negotiations were put on hold as PSG focused on their Champions League campaign. Nearly a month after winning the title, Barcola is still waiting for movement, with discussions expected to resume after the World Cup.
