Ariana Grande postpones three tour shows over safety issues

Ariana Grande has been forced to postpone three shows on her Eternal Sunshine Tour due to safety and production issues. The postponed concerts include a July 12 date at New York's Barclays Center, which will now take place on July 14, and two Boston shows at TD Garden originally scheduled for July 22 and July 24, which have been moved to July 23 and July 26, respectively.

Safety concerns prompt rescheduling

In a statement, Grande expressed regret over the changes, writing: 'We are so sorry for these unfortunate scheduling changes. This was our best and safest option as these challenges with production have come to our attention.' She emphasized that safety is the top priority, adding: 'The utmost important thing to us all is safety, first and foremost, and also making sure you all see the show how it is intended to run. Thank you so much for your understanding and I cannot wait to see you.'

Lift malfunction and other issues

The announcement follows a viral video posted on June 27 showing a hidden lift malfunctioning on stage, leaving Grande and her dancers stuck as they emerged from the middle of the stage. Other minor issues have included screens cutting out, the opening curtain being too close to dancers, and Grande slipping on her dress during a performance. Tickets for the rescheduled shows will be honored, but some fans have expressed frustration over non-refundable travel and hotel bookings.

Recent Instagram mishap

This is not the only recent malfunction for the singer. Grande accidentally posted a photo on Instagram showing her entire breast to her 375 million followers. The image, which featured her petting a dog, showed her dress too loose around her chest. After comments multiplied, she disabled comments on the post. She later shared a video on Instagram Stories with her friend Elizabeth Gillies, who joked about the incident, saying, 'You have great tits, they're really beautiful.' Grande replied, 'Thank you.'

Upcoming London residency

Despite the setbacks, Grande is set to perform a 10-night residency at London's O2 Arena starting August 15. The Eternal Sunshine Tour marks her return to the stage after several years away from touring.
