Absurd City London: Tickets on sale, opens Oct 15

Tickets for Absurd City, a new 'amazement park' in London, go on sale today (Tuesday, July 21) at 9am. The immersive experience opens on Thursday, October 15, at an 80,000 sq ft space at Westfield London in Shepherd's Bush, on Ariel Way.

What Is Absurd City?

Absurd City is set in the fictional world of Meridia, described as a 'trippy' and 'weird' place where 'logic breaks down, a parallel world connects and reality refuses to behave.' Visitors journey through four distinct districts housed under a protective dome, featuring unfolding stories, unexpected discoveries, secret passageways, and tactile installations.

Creative Team Behind the Experience

The park is created by Wake The Tiger, the team behind The Dream Factory in Bristol. Luke Mitchell, creative boss and co-founder, said: 'Whether you're new to the world of Meridia or a seasoned Daytripper, the self-guided experience is designed to spark imagination regardless of age, ability or persuasion. It's trippy, it's weird and it's waiting for us all to jump right in.' He added that there is 'no blueprint for Absurd City' and that it was built by 'some of the UK's finest underground artists, robotic experts and makers.'

Marketing and Launch

To mark the ticket launch, a Meridia-inspired double-decker bus and taxi will travel across London, arriving at Westfield Square. Jacinta Rowsell, Northern Europe executive at Westfield London, said: 'Absurd City is exactly the kind of bold, culture-defining experience we want people to discover at Westfield London. From the moment Wake The Tiger shared their vision with us, we knew this was going to be something special.'
