Casualty Fans Confused as Episode Missing from iPlayer Before BBC One Airing
Casualty Fans Confused as Episode Missing from iPlayer

Casualty fans have been left confused after the latest episode of the medical drama failed to appear on BBC iPlayer, raising questions about tonight's television broadcast of Lethal Legacy Episode 2. Much like EastEnders, the BAFTA-winning series typically releases new episodes at 6am on BBC iPlayer, over 12 hours before the same episode airs on TV. However, Saturday's (May 2) edition was not available on the streaming service.

Fans who prepared to watch the episode were left puzzled when they checked iPlayer and found it missing. "Why isn't tonight's episode of Casualty on iPlayer yet like it is every week?" asked X user Andi. Tom echoed the sentiment, asking: "Why isn't today's @BBCCasualty episode on BBC iPlayer yet?" Cait wrote: "The one Saturday that I'm actually not home when Casualty airs, of course it's the Saturday that Casualty isn't on BBC iPlayer in the morning." Jess, ready to watch at 6am, added: "It's 6:13am where's Casualty?"

Is Casualty on BBC Tonight?

Casualty is still scheduled to air on BBC One at 8:45pm tonight. The medical drama's official Facebook and Instagram accounts confirmed this via stories on their social media platforms. The long-running show recently launched a new boxset titled Lethal Legacy, which began last week. The storyline involves a mystery virus sweeping across Holby, with former Emmerdale star Mark Womack joining the cast as domineering Colonel Jack Bard, whose powerful hold over subordinates and ties to Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) threaten to shake the ED's foundation.

What to Expect in Episode 2

Lethal Legacy explores how the past can impact the present and how it can be challenged, reshaped, and ultimately broken. The second episode will see danger for paramedics who are held hostage by a grieving parent. Additionally, Casualty made headlines this week with the announcement that Charlie Fairhead will return, with actor Derek Thompson reprising his legendary role. Derek played the part for 38 years, making him the longest-serving cast member after joining the drama in 1986. Charlie departed Holby ED in 2024 after deciding to retire, leaving to a round of applause from colleagues.

Casualty airs Saturday evenings on BBC One or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer. Metro has reached out to Casualty and BBC for comment.
