Porsche has unveiled an exclusive new limited-edition model, the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche, created to honour a pivotal figure in the brand's history.
A Personal Tribute to a Design Legend
The car is a tribute to the late Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the grandson of the company's founder, who was instrumental in shaping the iconic 911's original design and later established Porsche Design. This month would have marked his 90th birthday, an anniversary the German marque is commemorating with this special GT3 Touring model.
Developed by Porsche's bespoke Sonderwunsch department, the car draws direct inspiration from an air-cooled 911 driven by F. A. Porsche himself during the 1980s. The most striking homage is its unique 'F.A. Green Metallic' paint, a colour developed specifically for this model and based on the Oak Green Metallic of his personal car. The shade was refined with input from the Porsche family, including Ferdinand's youngest son, Mark.
Further exterior details include Fuchs-style alloy wheels finished in satin gloss black, featuring the historic 1963 Porsche crest on their centre caps. A galvanised, gold-plated badge bearing the '90 F. A. Porsche' logo is fixed to the engine cover.
Interior Details Inspired by Personal Style
The cabin continues the deeply personal theme. A new 'F.A. Grid-Weave' fabric, patterned with the designer's favourite colours and reminiscent of the weave used in his jackets, adorns the seats and lines the glovebox and luggage compartment.
This is complemented by Truffle Brown Club Leather on the seat bolsters, doors, and dashboard. Unique interior elements include a Sport Chrono dial modelled on the original Chronograph 1 wristwatch made for F. A. Porsche, an open-pore walnut plywood gear knob featuring his signature, and a gold-plated commemorative plaque in front of the passenger.
Limited Availability and UK Implications
Mechanically, the car is identical to the standard 911 GT3 with the Touring Package, meaning it is powered by a 510hp naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine that revs to 9,000rpm.
Production will be strictly limited to just 90 examples, symbolising the birthday milestone, with one car already reserved for Mark Porsche. The remaining 89 vehicles will be available to order from April 2026, with a price tag of €351,211 (approximately £308,000).
Each owner will also receive an exclusive special version of the Chronograph 1 wristwatch and a Porsche Design bag in matching Truffle Brown Club leather. However, the car's left-hand-drive configuration means it will not be sold officially in the UK market.
