Zoe Ball has revealed that she is 'grieving' after failing to secure the coveted role as host of Strictly Come Dancing, admitting she has been working through the 'seven stages of grief'.
Audition Process
The former It Takes Two presenter was reportedly among the final candidates for the position and underwent a rigorous audition process. However, she has now confirmed that she did not get the job.
According to The Sun, Emma Willis is one of the presenters chosen by the BBC to take over from Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, though the co-host has yet to be announced.
Zoe's Reaction
Appearing on the Dig It podcast with Jo Whiley, set to be released tomorrow, Ball spoke candidly about the rejection. 'I didn't get it, but it's OK. I have worked through the seven stages of grief and rejection over the last couple of days,' she said.
'No, I didn't get it, but I tell you, what, if who I think has got it, we're in safe hands and our new hosts are going to be fabulous. I'm so thrilled for them, and hopefully at a later date, we'll be able to talk about them in more detail,' she added, as reported by The Sun.
Ball's disclosure comes amid widespread speculation about the new Strictly hosts, with several names having been linked to the role in recent weeks.
