Declan Rice took a swipe back at those who mocked him in the title race as Arsenal were officially crowned Premier League champions. Manchester City's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night ended their title hopes, with Arsenal clinching their first league triumph in 22 years with a game to spare.
With fans spilling out onto the streets of north London to celebrate, the party got started within Arsenal's London Colney training base where players and staff gathered to watch City's throw in the towel. Rice marked the occasion on Instagram, sharing a selfie alongside Kai Havertz, Eberechi Eze, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Bukayo Saka and William Saliba.
He captioned the post: 'I told you all, it's done.' Rice's words were in reference to the viral clip of him mouthing 'it's not done' following Arsenal's defeat at Manchester City in April. That afternoon, Arsenal's fate was briefly taken out of their own hands with City appearing to take the upper hand in the battle for first place.
The clip of Rice was widely mocked on social media, but the Gunners midfielder had the last laugh tonight. Sky Sports footage captured the wild celebrations within Arsenal's training base as the title was confirmed.
