Marcus Rashford and Declan Rice have given England a boost by participating fully in training ahead of Tuesday's World Cup match against Ghana, but Bukayo Saka is likely to start on the bench again as he manages an achilles problem.
Rashford and Rice return to training
Rashford, who scored England's fourth goal in the 4-2 win over Croatia, had complained of a minor muscular problem after that match. Rice, the vice-captain, went off in the 72nd minute with discomfort in his lower back and upper hamstring. However, both players trained without issues on Saturday in Kansas City, moving freely during passing drills under manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel confirmed that Saka is not yet ready for a full 90 minutes due to an achilles issue. The winger came off the bench against Croatia and stayed indoors for individual training on Saturday, indicating Noni Madueke will start on the right against Ghana in Boston.
Bellingham speaks on responsibility and pride
Jude Bellingham, who scored England's third goal against Croatia, discussed his growth with the national team. In an interview with FIFA, the 22-year-old said: "My responsibility to my team and to my country is to give everything I have. It's been a gradual process into being where I am with the England squad."
Bellingham added: "I wore the captain's armband for the first time in the friendlies which means I'm on a good path and I know I can contribute whether it be from the starting XI, from the bench."
Anthem inspiration from family
Speaking to BBC Sport, Bellingham revealed he uses the national anthem to draw inspiration from his family. "I think about my grandad, who passed away just before my England debut. He was so patriotic," he said. "I also think about the rest of my family and the sacrifices they've made to get me to this stage."
England top Group L after their win over Croatia, with their second game against Ghana on Tuesday.
