PSG Demolish Marseille 5-0 to Reclaim Ligue 1 Summit
Ousmane Dembélé struck twice as Paris Saint-Germain delivered a devastating performance to thrash bitter rivals Marseille 5-0 at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, reclaiming top spot in Ligue 1 with a statement victory.
Dembélé Double Sets the Tone
The French winger opened the scoring after just 12 minutes and added a second before half-time, putting PSG firmly in control against their historic adversaries. This emphatic display served as a powerful declaration of intent from Luis Enrique's side as they enter the crucial final months of the season.
Facundo Medina's own goal extended PSG's advantage just past the hour mark before substitutes Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Lee Kang-in completed the rout. The comprehensive victory avenged PSG's 1-0 defeat at the Velodrome earlier in the campaign.
Bayern Munich Restore Bundesliga Advantage
Meanwhile in Germany, Luis Díaz scored a hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrashed 10-man Hoffenheim 5-1 to restore their six-point lead at the Bundesliga summit. Harry Kane converted two penalties, both won by Díaz, taking his league tally to 24 goals for the season.
"There was a lot of noise around the team after two winless games. It was important to stay calm," Kane told DAZN. "We're heading towards the end of the season, a stage where every three points matters. We saw the gap can be cut quickly – the real season starts now."
Inter Milan Extend Serie A Lead
In Italy, Federico Dimarco provided three assists as Inter Milan thumped 10-man Sassuolo 5-0 to open up an eight-point lead at the top of Serie A. The commanding performance in Reggio Emilia featured goals from Yann Bisseck, Marcus Thuram, Manuel Akanji, Lautaro Martínez and Luis Henrique.
Dimarco proved influential at both ends of the pitch, clearing a Sassuolo shot off the line in the opening minute before creating multiple goals for his teammates.
Juventus Stage Dramatic Comeback
Juventus staged a remarkable recovery from 2-0 down to snatch a 2-2 draw against Lazio in Turin. The visitors had taken control with goals from Pedro and Gustav Isaksen either side of half-time, but Weston McKennie reduced the arrears before Pierre Kalulu equalised with virtually the last kick of the match.
Real Madrid Keep Pressure on Barcelona
In Spain, Real Madrid stayed within one point of La Liga leaders Barcelona with a 2-0 victory at Valencia. Second-half goals from Alvaro Carreras and Kylian Mbappé settled a largely uneventful contest, though Real dominated possession throughout.
PSG have now won seven consecutive league matches, though they remain under pressure from surprise challengers Lens, who sit just two points behind after briefly moving top on Saturday.
