Paris Saint-Germain took a crucial step towards the Champions League final with a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their semi-final at the Parc des Princes. Goals from Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé gave the French side the advantage, but a late strike from Joshua Kimmich keeps Bayern in contention ahead of the second leg in Munich.
First Half Dominance
PSG started brightly, pressing high and creating early chances. Mbappé opened the scoring in the 15th minute, latching onto a through ball from Vitinha and slotting past Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The home side continued to dominate, with Dembélé doubling the lead in the 35th minute after a swift counter-attack.
Bayern's Response
Bayern Munich struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, but improved after the break. Thomas Müller had a goal disallowed for offside before Kimmich pulled one back in the 78th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box. The visitors pushed for an equalizer but PSG held firm.
The second leg will take place at the Allianz Arena next week, with Bayern needing to win by at least two goals to advance.
