Marcus Rashford will make his first Manchester United start since December 2024 in today’s Premier League clash against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford. The England forward is one of four changes made by manager Michael Carrick following last week’s heavy defeat at Hull City.
Rashford returns to starting XI
Rashford replaces Patrick Dorgu in the starting line-up, while Andrey Santos, Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui all drop to the bench. Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot come into the side for the 4.30pm kick-off.
United were comfortably beaten by Hull City in their opening Premier League match of the season, a result that has increased pressure on Carrick’s side to respond in front of their own supporters. The Red Devils showed signs of progress last term but looked sluggish and unfit at the KCOM Stadium.

Ipswich arrive at Old Trafford full of confidence after beating Sunderland on the opening weekend. Kieran McKenna’s newly-promoted side will look to build on that victory and cause an upset against a United team desperate to get their campaign underway.
