Manchester United have been urged to consider a shock move for Real Madrid striker Endrick, with the Brazilian wonderkid reportedly seeking a loan exit to secure regular first-team football. The 20-year-old, who cost Real Madrid £50 million from Palmeiras as a teenager, has struggled to displace Kylian Mbappe in the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Endrick's Situation at Real Madrid
Endrick spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he impressed with eight goals and eight assists in just 21 appearances. However, despite his form, he is not guaranteed minutes under Jose Mourinho next season, prompting reports that he will seek another temporary transfer. Spanish outlet AS has claimed that both Roma and Aston Villa have expressed interest in signing the striker, with Villa looking to replace Morgan Rogers following his record £117 million move to Chelsea.
While a move to Villa would be a major coup for Unai Emery's side, former MLS star and pundit Ale Moreno believes Endrick would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford. Speaking to ESPN, Moreno said: 'I really do think that Real Madrid could use Endrick this season. So, if I were Endrick, I actually would consider staying at Real Madrid. But if the question is about where he would go, where he should go, where he may end up… we've talked a lot about Manchester United. The more you think about it, the more it makes sense to have a player with a profile of Endrick.'
Why United Need a Striker
Manchester United currently lack a natural number nine, with only Benjamin Sesko fitting that profile in their squad. While Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and the returning Marcus Rashford can all play as centre-forwards, Moreno argues that Endrick offers something different. 'He is different than anything else they have in the attack in a central position. So, I'm thinking that perhaps that could be a place that could think about Endrick as a possibility,' he added.
Moreno also noted that Endrick's preference is to play Champions League football, which United, Villa, and Roma can all offer. 'It wouldn't feel like such a demotion [joining United from Real] if you will. And after the season he had last year being out on loan and how well he did he must be thinking, "Alright, let's keep it going. Is that going to happen at Real Madrid? Well, probably not. Let me go somewhere else that I can do that". I don't know where that place can be. I'm just thinking that Manchester United could use a player like Endrick.'
A Contrasting View from Steve Nicol
However, former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes Endrick should prioritise guaranteed playing time over prestige. 'I was thinking more along the lines of a Fulham where he's 100 per cent going to play,' Nicol said. 'Fulham are going to play attacking football. They're not going to win all the time [but] they're going to win a fair share, they're going to create chances. Somebody like Endrick has to go somewhere where he's going to play all the time, otherwise what's the point of moving away from Real Madrid?'
With the transfer window still open, Endrick's future remains uncertain. Whether he ends up at Old Trafford, Villa Park, or elsewhere, his next move will be crucial for his development as one of Brazil's most promising talents.
