England's World Cup squad has not been officially announced yet, but over the last 12 hours, several announcements and reports have revealed the players expected to be included. Harry Maguire was the first to take to social media, announcing he would not be part of Thomas Tuchel's first international tournament squad.
Other notable names reported to have been left out include Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The surprise reported inclusion of Ivan Toney has also raised eyebrows following his move to Saudi Arabia. He has had a successful season, scoring 42 goals with Al-Ahli.
Speculation has run rife, and the expected 26-man squad is set to include 10 Londoners, with one player a surprise inclusion. Here is the list of Londoners expected to fly to the US for the World Cup.
Londoners in the Squad
- Harry Kane – from Leytonstone, plays for Bayern Munich
- Declan Rice – from Kingston upon Thames, plays for Arsenal
- Bukayo Saka – from Ealing, plays for Arsenal
- Reece James – born in Redbridge and grew up in Mortlake, plays for Chelsea
- Marc Guehi – grew up in Lewisham, plays for Manchester City

- Ezri Konsa – from Newham, plays for Aston Villa
- Noni Madueke – from Barnet, plays for Arsenal

The inclusion of Djed Spence has raised some eyebrows on social media, with the Tottenham full-back being picked over the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lewis Hall, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The full 26-man squad is set to be officially announced later today. At the Qatar World Cup, England lost to France in the quarter-finals. At Euro 2024, England narrowly lost out on winning their first international tournament since 1966, losing to Spain.
