A dramatic and controversial late penalty from Morgan Gibbs-White in the 89th minute snatched a vital 2-1 Premier League victory for Nottingham Forest at the London Stadium, plunging West Ham United deeper into relegation trouble.
A Night of High Stakes and Early Pressure
The atmosphere in East London was tense from the outset, with a significant number of empty home seats reflecting the growing apathy amongst the West Ham support. The hosts, however, started with purpose. Tomas Soucek provided midfield grit, while new signing Taty Castellanos, a £26m arrival from Lazio, showed early promise with his movement.
Forest, themselves on a run of four consecutive defeats, looked nervy and contributed to their own downfall for the opening goal.
