Kvaratskhelia's Father Dismisses Arsenal Transfer Rumours
Kvaratskhelia's Father Shuts Down Arsenal Transfer Talk

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's father has shut down rumours linking the forward with Arsenal, insisting his son 'does not pay attention to such reports' and remains fully committed to PSG. PSG signed Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for a fee of £59 million back in January 2025, a deal that saw the 25-year-old become far and away the most expensive Georgian footballer in history.

In that time, Kvaratskhelia has further established himself as one of the most exciting attacking talents in European football, racking up 24 goals and 17 assists in 74 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants. Over the course of an extraordinary debut season in the French capital, Kvaratskhelia helped PSG finally end their wait for the Champions League title, netting three times across the club's triumphant campaign.

In total, Kvaratskhelia has lifted six pieces of silverware since arriving in Paris – and he looks on course to add to that collection over the coming weeks, with Luis Enrique's men sitting top of the league and battling it out in the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Independent claimed last month that Arsenal had been 'investigating' a possible deal for Kvaratskhelia, identifying the winger as a player able to bring 'individual creativity' to Mikel Arteta's attacking options. While PSG were said to view Kvaratskhelia as a 'near-unsellable' asset, the player's inner circle were reportedly 'open to the idea' of a move to north London.

However, in a wide-ranging interview with Georgian outlet Kviris Palitra published on Monday, Kvaratskhelia's father Badri poured cold water on speculation of a possible move to the Emirates. 'Yes, there are often reports about the interest of Arsenal or other English clubs, but my son does not pay attention to such reports,' he said. 'He is an outstanding player on one of the best teams in Europe. They appreciate him, love him, play for him, and why should he think about changing clubs? Khvicha thinks only about the interests of the team, how to help the club and how to make his homeland famous.'

Given his son's current standing at PSG, the reigning European champions, Badri Kvaratskhelia sees no reason why the former Napoli man would even be considering his future. 'Khvicha plays for a very strong and successful club, where he is loved and trusted,' he added. 'He is one of the leading players in the club, who are the holders of the Champions League and are semi-finalists in this year's tournament. Why should he think about leaving somewhere else?'

He continued: 'If PSG no longer has the desire to continue the cooperation, we will also think about leaving. But at this stage, this topic is not even being discussed. Despite the fact that he has to compete with the leading players of the French national team, with rare exceptions, Khvicha is an unchanged member of the first-team squad and PSG's management also emphasise that he is an invaluable player for the team.'

Speaking to Le Parisien last month, Kvaratskhelia Jr made it clear that he remained happy with life across the Channel. 'For me, Paris is truly extraordinary,' he told the French newspaper. 'You have everything here, and above all, this is the city of love. When PSG contacted me, I thought my wife was the happiest person in the world. Before PSG contacted me, she always said, “Imagine if one day we play for PSG, it would be amazing to stay there.” In my mind, I think it's very difficult to go there when there are great players like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. I love everything about Paris. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate how respectful the people are there.'

Kvaratskhelia's current contract at the Parc des Princes runs through to June 2029.
