John Terry Sends Support to Arsenal's Gabriel After Champions League Final Penalty Miss
John Terry Supports Gabriel After Champions League Final Loss

Chelsea legend John Terry has reached out to Arsenal defender Gabriel following his penalty shootout miss in Saturday's Champions League final defeat. The Gunners, who had won the Premier League title a week earlier, fell short in Budapest against Paris Saint-Germain, losing on penalties after a hard-fought match.

Terry's Message of Support

Despite Chelsea remaining the only London club to have won the Champions League, Terry expressed sympathy for Gabriel, who had been outstanding throughout the final. 'Wow, a horrible way to lose,' Terry said. 'I feel for Gabriel, I've been there myself and I wish him the best.' The former England captain famously missed a penalty in the 2008 final against Manchester United, slipping in the Moscow rain.

Terry added: 'They just miss out and it's a horrible way to lose. I'm feeling for Gabriel, I've been there. Trust me, it's not a good place for the next few days, you'll feel even worse. But things move on and you go again next season.'

Gabriel's Response

Gabriel, who was part of Arsenal's victory parade through north London on Sunday, took to Instagram to express his pride. 'It's painful but I'm proud of this team and everything we achieved together this season,' the Brazil international wrote. 'Thank you to our incredible fans for your support every step of the way. You deserve to celebrate this journey with us and enjoy the parade today. See you next season. Love, Big Gabi.'

The parade attracted an estimated 1.5 million people celebrating Arsenal's Premier League triumph, their first in 22 years. Despite the Champions League heartbreak, the club's season remains historic.
