Jarrod Bowen has indicated that he is prepared to remain at West Ham United next season following the club's relegation from the Premier League. The Hammers will compete in the Championship next term after failing to avoid the drop on the final day of the campaign on Sunday.
West Ham's Relegation Confirmed
West Ham secured a 3-0 victory at home against Leeds United, but it was not enough to keep them up, as Tottenham Hotspur finished two points ahead with a 1-0 win over Everton. The result condemned the London club to the second tier for the first time in over a decade.
Bowen's Commitment to the Club
Bowen, who has been at West Ham for six years, enjoyed another impressive season, netting nine Premier League goals. The 29-year-old has been linked with several top-flight clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. However, in a post-match interview, he made it clear that his focus is on helping West Ham bounce back.
When asked about his future, Bowen replied: 'Listen, it's still very, very raw. Talking about futures is disrespectful to the club, the fans, everything like that. This club deserves to be in the Premier League. That's our aim now, this season is done, our aim now is to get back in the Premier League. That's as simple as it is.'
Pressed further on his own plans, he added: 'Like I said, it's disrespectful to everyone to start speaking about futures and saying what's going to happen. Like I said, I want this club to be in the Premier League. It's a club that means so much to me, that's given me so much, so my vision is getting this club back in the Premier League.'
Manager's Future Also in Question
Bowen was initially asked whether he would like to see manager Nuno Espirito Santo remain at the helm for the Championship campaign. While he did not directly address the manager's future, his comments suggested a collective effort to restore the club's top-flight status.
West Ham's relegation marks a significant downturn for a club that has been a Premier League mainstay in recent years. With Bowen's hinted commitment, the Hammers may retain a key asset as they aim for an immediate return.
