In upcoming Hollyoaks scenes, Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) is injured when he is knocked down outside the garage, but a twist follows that is not what viewers might expect.
The mechanic married Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) earlier this year after Ste accepted Rex's experimentation with women's clothing. Ste had previously struggled with this and even got arrested after causing a scene at The Loft when Rex wore a woman's blouse. Ste's lawyer, James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan), became involved, leading to Ste cheating on Rex with his ex. Rex discovered the infidelity but initially stayed silent, fearing Ste would choose James. However, when the truth came out, Ste chose Rex and they married.
Now, the couple's happiness is short-lived. Next week, Rex wears feminine clothes to the garage, leaving Ste concerned. Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) encourages her brother to be supportive, but Ste confides in Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), wondering if Rex is doing this as revenge for his affair with James. Ro Hutchinson (Leo Cole) overhears and confronts Ste, later telling Rex what he heard at the garage.
A serious situation unfolds when Rex is knocked over outside the garage while Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) chases a suspect. Later, Ste sees cuts on Rex's face and is horrified. Rex claims it was an accident, but it becomes clear he enjoys Ste's concern and exaggerates what happened. Ste becomes super protective, but the truth remains unclear.
