Thomas Frank Predicts 'Fantastic' Man Utd Career for Bryan Mbeulo
Frank Tips Mbeumo for 'Fantastic' Man Utd Success

Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has made a surprising prediction about Manchester United's rising star Bryan Mbeumo, suggesting the forward is destined for fantastic success at Old Trafford.

Premier League Showdown Looms

The comments came during Frank's pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's crucial Premier League encounter between Tottenham and Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both teams currently sit level on points in the league table, adding significance to this weekend's clash.

Tottenham experienced mixed fortunes in their recent matches, suffering a disappointing defeat to Chelsea before bouncing back with a 4-0 thrashing of Copenhagen in the Champions League. Meanwhile, Manchester United arrive in north London riding a four-game unbeaten run that has seen their confidence grow significantly.

Frank's Insider Knowledge

Frank possesses unique insight into United's danger man, having managed Bryan Mbeumo for six seasons at Brentford. The Tottenham boss revealed he attempted to sign the Cameroonian international for Spurs last summer, but Mbeumo had his heart set on a £71 million move to Manchester United instead.

The 25-year-old has immediately justified his price tag, recording five goals and one assist in his first eleven appearances for the Red Devils. His impressive start was recognised with the Premier League Player of the Month award for October.

Speaking about Mbeumo's rapid adaptation, Frank expressed no surprise: "When you work with a player for six years, you get a close relationship. To see him develop from being a young man, 19-year-old when he moved to London and Brentford and left six years later, going into one of the biggest clubs in the world with all that focus and the way he stepped up."

Mutual Respect Between Managers

Frank also praised United manager Ruben Amorim for navigating a difficult period at Old Trafford: "I think Ruben and his coaching staff have done a very good job. It's clearly been a tough year for them and for him. I admire him a lot for that, to go through a very tricky spell with a lot of setbacks."

The Tottenham manager acknowledged United's improved form, noting they have most key players available and have established consistency in team selection over their recent unbeaten run.

Looking ahead to the tactical battle, Frank warned: "We know exactly what to expect from them. I think they have an incredibly dangerous front three. They're starting to get more up to pace and we need to close them down."

However, he added an important caveat regarding his former protege: "I think he will have fantastic success there. I hope that for him, not tomorrow, but in general I hope and wish him all the best."
