Emmerdale's most twisted medical professional since John Sugden, Dr Caitlin Todd, is a vicious bully and arch manipulator. She has taken on and almost entirely destroyed the usually indomitable Charity Dingle. Introduced as the spiteful boss of young student doctor Jacob Gallagher, she made his working life a living hell. Not satisfied with torturing him at work, she also moved to the village and became Vanessa Woodfield's roommate, continuing to victimise him at home.
Jacob formally reported Todd to HR, but Todd discovered that baby Leyla, believed to be Jacob and Sarah Sugden's child, is actually the child of Charity and Ross Barton. Todd used this to force Charity to get Jacob to withdraw his complaint. Knowing her time was running out, Todd decided to retire early. Though Sarah insisted Jacob see his complaint through, Jacob looked forward to a life without Todd's harassment.
