EastEnders fans have seemingly worked out what lies ahead for Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) in the BBC One soap's 'The Night that Changes Everything'. It was confirmed a few days ago that The Beales, the Brannings, the Knights and the Fox-Trueman clans will, for very different reasons, find themselves at the heart of the drama, with the events that take place on the evening in question having huge repercussions for all families mentioned.
New imagery and a trailer have teased the events to come, with characters including Max Branning (Jake Wood), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), Ian and Chelsea among those included. The fact that Ian and Chelsea will be involved in a storyline has got plenty of EastEnders fans very intrigued, as these two residents rarely interact.
Expressing her thoughts, Sophie said on X recently: 'eastenders has drawn me back in bc why are ian and chelsea linked at all!!!'. Another account also shared their curiosity for the upcoming drama between the two characters and said: 'Wait what's Chelsea got to do with Ian?!?!?!'.
Audience members now believe they've got the answer nailed when it comes to what exactly will happen with this duo. A theory currently circulating on X is that Ian will hit Chelsea's son Jordon with his car. Ky wrote: 'someone said he could hit jordan with a car and chelsea blackmails him'. Agreeing with the point, this fan said: 'I sawwww… esp now he's a councillor'. Also under the impression that whatever Ian will be involved in will impact his future as a local councillor, Bran added: 'knowing eastenders he will lose his council position ?'.
Depending on the severity of Jordon's injuries, this could be exactly what brings his dad Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) back onto our screens. That being said, fans are also wondering if Ian will become Chelsea's new boss at Harry's Barn. Ryan wrote: 'Yeah I reckon Nicola tries to sell the club to Chelsea then she sells it to Ian after Denise's blood cancer diagnosis – it could justify Nicola and Chelsea's unexplained fallout #EastEnders'. Shawn noted: 'That seems plausible. I could see that happening'.
Serial killer Gray Atkins is currently in prison after killing Chantelle, Tina and Kush. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Toby will be reprising his role as Gray, for a plot that also involves Chelsea. Gray is thought of as a controversial EastEnders villain due to the fact he became a crazed murderer after abusing his partner Chantelle. Prior to killing Tina and Kush, Gray was part of one of the soap's most powerful domestic abuse plots, and many felt that the shift into a serial killer narrative diluted the significance of Chantelle's story. The character departed the show in 2022 after finally getting arrested for his crimes. Even though Gray is in the middle of a very long prison sentence, his upcoming return is definitely going to cause some serious drama.
