Next week on Coronation Street, Sarah Platt's (Tina O'Brien) prison ordeal escalates when her former friend Kacey (Emma Matthews) delivers a chilling ultimatum: either Sarah gets Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) to help Kacey's son, or something bad happens to Sarah's son, Harry (Joshua Leavy). Forced to fashion a weapon from pool balls stuffed into a sock, Sarah must decide how far she is willing to go to protect her child.
Meanwhile, Tim (Joe Duttine) and Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) struggle to cope with Lucy Parkinson (Anya Dewin), whose trauma and emotional issues push them to their limits. When Tim makes a grave admission to Lucy about his guilt over the murder, will she take matters into her own hands?
Elsewhere, Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike) finds himself in serious trouble after rescuing Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) from a humiliating assault by Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw). As Jake pleads innocence, Ollie is arrested on suspicion of assault, with PC Jess Heywood (Donnaleigh Bailey) warning him he faces a custodial sentence.
Monday, August 24: Tim confesses, and a father-son battle erupts
After accusing Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) of spying on her in the garden, Lucy asks Tim to take her to the undertakers to see her mum. However, she falters at the door, wracked with panic, prompting Tim to confess his guilt over the murder later on.
Meanwhile, a battle between father and son breaks out when Ollie plans to bring Jude (Tom Aubrey), an influencer, to review Speed Daal. Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) schedules a craft beer event to steal Jude's attention, and seemingly succeeds when Jude stops by to sample the beer. Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) tries her hardest to reassure Sarah that Harry is doing okay.
Tuesday, August 25: Jake assaults Christina, and Maggie and Brian's night unfolds
Christina continues to worry about her relationship with George, confiding in Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) that she has barely heard from him. Later, she drunkenly topples over in the ginnel, where Jake finds her and films himself pouring a bottle of water over her. Ollie chases Jake and pins him to the ground.
The Driscoll clan is in shock when a dishevelled Brian (Peter Gunn) comes downstairs, having spent the night with Maggie (Pauline McLynn). He is crestfallen when he returns later with flowers and overhears her telling Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) that the night was incredibly underwhelming, forcing her to head to the Kabin to apologise.
Initially furious that Sally has booked her a counselling session, Lucy uses it to bash Sally and Tim, before causing a further ruckus with Joanie and taking a call from her dad, who insists they stick to their story. Sarah is unnerved to realise Kacey knows her son's name, and Bethany worries when she finds one of Kit's shirts spotted with blood.
Wednesday, August 26: Sarah arms herself, and Ollie is arrested
Having found her photo of Harry defaced, Sarah is terrified. When Kacey shows her pictures of Harry at his new friend's house, Sarah calls Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) and begs him to collect Harry and keep him close by, chilled by the thought that his new friend's mum is in league with Kacey. Later, she arms herself with pool balls stuffed into a sock.
Sally confesses to Tim that she is unsure if they can cope with Lucy's extreme trauma and emotional issues. Ruth (Amy Drake), Lucy's social worker, appears later to quiz Lucy on her thoughts about her foster home. Glenda discovers Maggie hiding in the hallway, determined to dodge Brian. Jake pleads innocence, leading Ollie to be arrested on suspicion of assault, with PC Jess Heywood warning him that he faces a custodial sentence.
Thursday, August 27: George returns, and Sarah approaches Kacey's cell
As Christina anxiously prepares for George's return, Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) is floored to find him already back and at work. George lambasts Todd for using alcohol to mask his problem, leading Todd to fire back with what happened to Christina. As George heads home, Christina pales when he tells her he has made a decision about their future.
As Kit prepares to intervene to protect Sarah, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) pulls him back, advising him to focus on himself. Sarah approaches Kacey's cell, desperately clutching her newly made weapon. Concurrently, Jake is wracked with guilt when he overhears Ben telling Gary Windass (Mikey North) that Ollie could end up in prison.
Friday, August 28: No episode, but the fallout looms
There is no episode of Coronation Street on Friday, August 28, leaving viewers to wait for the consequences of Sarah's drastic actions, Ollie's arrest, and the Metcalfes' unraveling situation. The week's events set the stage for explosive drama as Sarah's prison nightmare reaches a breaking point, and Ollie's fate hangs in the balance.
