Chelsea Urged to Hijack Man City's £69m Move for Kroupi

Chelsea have been urged to hijack Manchester City's move for Bournemouth forward Junior Kroupi, as the 19-year-old continues to impress in his debut Premier League season.

Kroupi's Impressive Season

The French teenager has become the first player since Robbie Keane in 1999/2000 to reach ten goals in his maiden Premier League campaign. His performances have attracted attention from top clubs, with Manchester City reportedly considering a summer bid. A fee of around €80 million (£69 million) may be required to secure his signature.

Malouda's Advice to Chelsea

Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has urged his old club to enter the race for Kroupi. "He's a very good talent," Malouda told Snabbare. "I played against his father in France; he was an Ivory Coast international. Kroupi did very well last season in France and is now excelling in the Premier League."

Malouda believes Chelsea could benefit from signing Kroupi but suggests a loan move might be best for his development. "He needs to confirm his form for another season before joining a big club. If he jumps too early, he might not get game time. Sending him on loan would be a better option than keeping him in the squad without minutes."

Potential Boost for Chelsea

Chelsea's chances of signing Kroupi could improve if they appoint Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola, who is among the favourites to replace Liam Rosenior permanently at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's Current Attack

Joao Pedro has been a successful signing this season with 14 league goals, but Liam Delap has struggled. Delap reportedly wants to stay and fight for his place, but competition will increase when Nicolas Jackson returns from his loan at Bayern Munich.

Kroupi's agent has already met with Manchester City's director of football, Hugo Viana, but Chelsea could still intervene in the transfer race.
