Chelsea have reportedly joined the pursuit of Koln forward Said El Mala, making a strong bid to secure his signature ahead of the summer transfer window. Koln's Stance on El Mala's Future
Koln's managing director of sport, Thomas Kessler, addressed the rumors in an interview with Express.de. While he declined to comment on specific speculation, including reports of a rejected €25-30 million offer, he praised El Mala's progress.
"What matters to us is that Said has made very positive progress in a short time and has contributed significantly to our season so far with his performances," Kessler stated. "He brings quality to the pitch week after week and has earned this attention through hard work."
Kessler emphasized that the club is providing close support to keep El Mala grounded, noting that Koln tied him to a long-term contract until June 2030 without a release clause. "We deliberately tied Said to the club on a long-term basis before the season because we are convinced of his development and have a clear plan for him," he added. "At the same time, it is part of our business to deal with market-related matters. We do this seriously and with the necessary calm."
The club expects El Mala to continue his path with Koln, focusing on stability and collective progress for the remainder of the season.
