Besiktas have made a formal approach to Arsenal regarding a transfer for striker Gabriel Jesus, following their successful acquisition of Leandro Trossard earlier this summer. The Turkish Super Lig club is aiming to strengthen their squad further with the Brazilian international, who has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.
Jesus available for £20m
Arsenal have set a price of £20 million for the 29-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his contract. The Gunners are only open to a permanent sale, ruling out any loan arrangement. Jesus, who joined from Manchester City in 2022 for £45 million, has struggled with injuries during his time in North London, making just 123 appearances over four seasons and scoring 32 goals.
Despite being part of the first-team squad and featuring in pre-season, his exit appears increasingly likely as the transfer window progresses. Napoli have also shown interest, but Besiktas are keen to test Arsenal's resolve with their own bid.
Galatasaray eye Martinelli
In a related development, Galatasaray have made an initial inquiry for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli. According to TalkSPORT, talks have been held over a potential fee for the 25-year-old, who made 53 appearances last season, scoring 11 goals. Martinelli has one year left on his contract, though Arsenal hold an option to extend by a further 12 months.
However, Arsenal are reluctant to let Martinelli leave unless they secure a replacement on the left wing, especially after Trossard's departure. The club's pursuit of Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr has been unsuccessful, and they are now considering alternatives such as Kenan Yildiz of Juventus and Eli Kroupi Jr of Bournemouth. Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez is also on their radar, with Barcelona also interested.
