The defender was forced off after just 31 minutes of Saturday's hard-fought 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium. White, who had recently regained his place in the starting lineup, felt a problem in his hamstring and was replaced by young midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly.

While the Gunners eventually secured the three points thanks to a Yerson Mosquera own goal in injury time, the victory came at a cost. Initial scans have now revealed the extent of the damage, with reports indicating White will be unavailable for at least a month.

Arteta's Growing Defensive Crisis

The news is a major frustration for both player and manager. White has struggled for consistent game time this season due to a prior knee issue and increased competition from Jurrien Timber at right-back. His return to fitness had been timely, given Arsenal's ongoing injury woes at the back.

Speaking after the match, a concerned Arteta highlighted his squad's fragility. "He hasn't played a lot of minutes because of the previous knee issue," the Arsenal boss explained. "The moment he started to get some momentum, he had to play a lot because we didn't have any other solution. We had to even risk [William] Saliba today... that's bad news for sure."

Saliba himself was making a return from injury against Wolves, underscoring the crisis. Centre-backs Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristhian Mosquera remain absent, though Riccardo Calafiori is now fit again after his own problems.
