The Gunners were prepared to make the Brazilian the highest-paid player in Premier League history, but Vinicius chose to stay in Spain and sign a new contract. Now, former Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere has publicly recommended Neto as a cheaper, proven alternative.
Arsenal's search for a left winger intensifies
Mikel Arteta's side had targeted Vinicius to bolster their left flank, but with that deal off, they are exploring other options. Reports suggest Arsenal are considering reigniting their interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, though Liverpool are also keen. However, Aliadiere believes the club should look at more affordable Premier League-ready talent, pointing to Pedro Neto as an ideal fit.
“Pedro Neto could be a great option. He's played in the Premier League for many years, is established, knows the league, a very, very good player,” Aliadiere told Metro via Football Betting. He added that Arsenal must balance their finances after significant spending, including the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes and the departure of only Trossard for a fee.

Neto, 26, has scored 19 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions since joining Chelsea from Wolves in August 2024. You can't just spend 40 million and then just stick him on the bench and never play him,” he said, referring to new signing Christos Tzolis. He urged the club to keep all options open and consider what is best financially.
The former striker also highlighted that Arsenal have already signed left winger Tzolis, so adding Neto would be about enhancing depth rather than filling a void. “Don't forget, we've already signed a left winger with Christos Tzolis. He's a left winger, so you're just adding top talent,” he said.
