Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race to sign West Ham United midfielder Crysencio Summerville, according to reports. The 24-year-old Netherlands international is expected to leave the Hammers this summer following their relegation from the Premier League last season.
Summerville's standout season despite relegation
Summerville, who joined West Ham from Leeds United for an initial £25 million two years ago, was one of the team's top performers during the 2025-26 campaign. He scored five goals and provided two assists in the Premier League, despite the club finishing in the bottom three. The Dutch winger is currently representing his country at the World Cup.
Manchester United have already held talks with West Ham over a deal for central midfielder Mateus Fernandes, but have also contacted the Championship club regarding a potential move for Summerville. According to FootMercato, Arsenal are now in the running alongside United, with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa also expressing interest.
PSG also in the mix
The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing both Summerville and Fernandes from West Ham and have 'already begun preliminary discussions' over a deal for the duo. Summerville is valued at around £50 million, reflecting his importance to the Hammers and his potential.
Arsenal are specifically targeting a left-sided attacker, a role Summerville primarily occupied for West Ham last season, though he is also capable of playing on the right flank. The Premier League champions have already held talks with Club Brugge over a deal for 24-year-old winger Christos Tzolis, who has scored 43 goals in 108 appearances for the Belgian side.
Arsenal's other attacking targets
Arsenal are also keen on Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, with reports this week suggesting Villa would accept an £80 million bid for the 23-year-old. The Gunners are looking to bolster their attacking options as they aim to defend their Premier League title.
Summerville's versatility and Premier League experience make him an attractive option for several top clubs. With West Ham now in the Championship, the club is likely to sell several key players to rebuild, and Summerville's departure seems imminent.
