Russell's Dominance Ends in Heartbreak
George Russell had looked set for his first win of the season, leading comfortably from pole position. However, on lap 48 of 70, his Mercedes suffered a sudden loss of power, forcing him to pull over at the side of the track. The Briton's disappointment was palpable as he climbed out of his car, his hopes of victory dashed.
Russell's retirement triggered a virtual safety car period, which allowed Antonelli to close the gap to the leaders. The young Italian made a strategic pit stop for fresh tires and emerged in contention for the win.
Antonelli's Composed Drive
Antonelli, who started third on the grid, showed maturity beyond his years. He managed his tires expertly and fended off pressure from Verstappen in the closing stages. The Dutchman, a three-time world champion, pushed hard but could not find a way past the Mercedes rookie.

In the constructors' championship, Mercedes closes the gap to Red Bull, now trailing by 15 points. Ferrari remains third, 42 points behind the leaders.
