The win marked Saracens' sixth final appearance in nine seasons, and despite playing with 14 players for 20 minutes due to Marlie Packer's sin-bin, their experience proved decisive.
Clinical First Half Puts Saracens in Control
Saracens dominated from the outset, with chants of “Sarries” heard streets away from the stadium. Lock Julia Omokhuale powered over to break the deadlock, followed by two tries from Packer and another from Sydney Gregson, giving Saracens a 26-0 lead at half-time. Trailfinders, first-time finalists who had upset three-time champions Gloucester-Hartpury in the semi-final, struggled to breach Saracens' impenetrable defence despite early momentum from Meg Jones.
Second Half Seals Dominant Victory
Jess Breach opened the second half with an excellent finish, and Alysha Corrigan also dotted down. Trailfinders scored consolation tries through Maya Montiel and Alana Borland, but tries from Zoe Harrison and Breach sealed the dominant afternoon. Packer, who scored two tries and was sent to the sin bin, won her fourth PWR title, lifting the trophy as co-captain alongside Harrison at the venue she will play for next season after switching to Harlequins.
Growth of the Game on Display
The final drew 8,099 fans to the Stoop, a significant increase from around 500 a decade ago when the venue last hosted the final. Fans from across the league wore their club colours, underscoring the growth of the women's game. Trailfinders, despite their loss, showed no fear early on but wasted chances, with Jones' sparkle not enough to inspire another shock. Saracens' experience and execution proved too much, as they celebrated their first title since 2020.
