Judi Love Urges Halt to Graphic Anthony Joshua Crash Footage Sharing
Judi Love pleads to stop sharing Anthony Joshua crash videos

Television personality and comedian Judi Love has issued a heartfelt plea for social media users to stop sharing graphic videos from the car crash involving British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua in Nigeria.

A Tragic Accident on a Busy Highway

The incident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on 29 December 2025. Anthony Joshua, 36, was a passenger in a Lexus that collided with a stationary truck in the Makun area. The two-time world champion sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Reports indicate his injuries are 'minor' but involve 'rib and knee problems'.

Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of two of Joshua's close friends and team members, Sina Ghami and Kevin Latif Ayodele. Both men were travelling in the same vehicle. Ghami served as a physiotherapist and confidant, while Ayodele, affectionately known as Latz, was seen playing table tennis with Joshua just hours before the fatal crash.

Public Outcry Over Distressing Footage

In the aftermath, social media platforms became flooded with videos showing the crash's immediate aftermath, including scenes of Joshua in visible pain as he was helped from the wreckage. This prompted a strong response from Judi Love, a friend of the boxer.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the 45-year-old Loose Women star posted a message on a black background: 'Please STOP posting and sharing videos or images of the AJ incident or any other horrific traumatic events.' She emphasised the profound impact on grieving families, writing, 'People have lost their lives, and these images can deeply affect the families who are already grieving.'

Love concluded her plea by asking for prayers for Joshua and the families affected, adding a praying hands emoji.

Widespread Condemnation and Tributes

Judi Love was not alone in her condemnation. MMA fighter Darren Till also expressed outrage on X (formerly Twitter), branding the act of filming the incident as 'absolutely pathetic'. He criticised the lack of immediate concern shown by onlookers.

Joshua's promoter, Matchroom Boxing, released an official statement confirming the deaths with 'profound sadness' and asking for privacy for all affected. Tributes poured in from across the sporting world.

Chris Eubank Jr posted: 'Thank god our heavyweight champ survived that horrible car crash. And pray for the two fallen soldiers Latz & Sina & their families.' Jake Paul, who Joshua defeated earlier in December, also offered his condolences.

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu confirmed he had spoken directly to Anthony Joshua to offer his condolences and wish him a speedy recovery, noting they prayed together during the call.
