Hackney Half Marathon 2027 Entry: Deadline, Cost & Tips

Running is very much in vogue at the moment, and it is safe to say that the hype is not set to slow down any time soon. Among London’s races, few are more popular than the Hackney Half, a 13.1-mile route that traces through the best of east London and brings the culture with it, boasting DJ sets, food stalls and all-around great vibes. Have you seen all the hype around the Hackney Half this weekend and been inspired to run in next year’s event? It is terrific fun, and it is getting even more popular every year. The 2026 edition sold out in minutes, with general entry closing just two days after the 2025 race took place. In other words, if you are thinking of running next year, you need to think fast. Here is everything you need to know about entering the Hackney Half Marathon in 2027.

How to enter the 2027 Hackney Half

Good news – if you have taken part in this year’s race, you are already eligible for the 2027 race. Do not worry if you are a newbie, though, as you can still pre-register to purchase your entry. Pre-registration is free – it just guarantees access to a link to purchase your ticket when general sale opens. For next year, securing your place looks a little different. Because entries sold out in under an hour last year, there will now be three separate entry windows to give eager runners a fairer chance at grabbing a spot. The three entry windows are as follows:

  • Monday, May 18 at 1pm
  • Tuesday, May 19 at 10am
  • Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm

Entry fees

Next year, general entries will be sold at a single price for everyone, rather than the tiered pricing offered in previous years. All tickets will be priced at £69.

Running for a charity

If you would like to dedicate your run to a good cause, you can run for a charity for the Hackney Half. You can browse their list of charity partners online – get in touch with them directly to secure a spot in next year’s race.

The 2027 Hackney Half route

Next year’s course will likely follow a similar route to the 2026 course, starting from Hackney Marshes, through Hackney Downs to Victoria Park, and back via Hackney Wick. If you want to take part in a half marathon sooner, we recommend signing up for the brand new Saucony Run Shoreditch Half. It is run by the same people as the Hackney Half and will take place in September. You can enter for £65. Also, the 2027 London Marathon ballot has closed – here is how you can still get a place in the legendary race.
