In his post, Trump thanked participants and noted his limited practice time due to presidential duties. 'I won with a score of 70, and am so honoured in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, because I’m focused on many other things,' he wrote. He added, 'It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!'

The course has a par of 72, making Trump's claimed 70 an exceptional round for an amateur of any age. This victory adds to his tally of 43 club championships, a number that has long been questioned by golf writers and fans. In 2025, Trump reportedly scored even lower, with a White House-shared scorecard showing a 69 gross and a net 67 after handicap, winning by one stroke in gross and 10 in net.
Trump also won the senior and super senior titles at Bedminster in 2023, adding to a trophy cabinet filled with wins at his own clubs. The president has never lacked confidence, previously stating, 'I’ve played a lot, and I’ve played well. There are very few people who can beat me in golf.'

Sportswriter Rick Reilly, in his 2019 book Commander in Cheat, alleged that Trump cheats at golf, saying, 'When it comes to cheating, he’s an 11 on a scale of one to 10.'
