Major Incident Declared as Firefighters Tackle Intense Southall Blaze
A significant fire has erupted at an industrial warehouse in Southall, West London, prompting the declaration of a major incident. The blaze began at approximately 8:55 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at a two-storey building within the Middlesex Business Park on Bridge Road.
Scale of the Emergency Response
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has deployed a massive response to the incident. Around 150 firefighters from 25 fire engines are currently on the scene working to bring the inferno under control. The operation is complex and dangerous due to the building's contents, which are believed to include fireworks and gas cylinders.
Local residents reported hearing what sounded like numerous explosions, with one individual describing '80 high-intensity explosions'. The LFB has confirmed that the contents pose significant safety risks, complicating firefighting efforts.
Public Health Advice and Evacuations
A huge plume of thick, black smoke is billowing from the site and is visible across vast areas of West London. Due to the potential health hazards from the smoke, the LFB and Ealing Council have urgently advised residents in the immediate area to keep their windows and doors closed.
As a safety precaution, a nearby school and a block of flats have been evacuated. Authorities have confirmed that there have been no reports of injuries, thanks in part to these proactive measures. The London Ambulance Service is on standby at the scene.
Widespread Disruption and Ongoing Efforts
The fire has caused severe disruption to the local transport network. Bridge Road is closed in both directions, and Transport for London (TfL) has diverted the 427 bus route away from the area. Motorists are being advised to avoid the vicinity entirely.
The fire is extensive, with crews reporting that three-quarters of the warehouse building is alight. Given the scale and nature of the blaze, the LFB has stated that firefighters are expected to remain at the scene throughout the day, continuing their efforts to fully extinguish the fire.
