Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) is left utterly devastated in upcoming EastEnders scenes next week as the truth about Priya Nandra-Hart’s (Sophie Khan Levy) baby finally explodes. The revelation comes as Ravi and Priya return to Walford following a baby scan, with Ravi still believing he is the father of her unborn child.
As the couple look towards the future, they discuss how they will break the news to Nugget and Avani on their journey home. However, they have no idea that Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is travelling on the same Tube and has been listening to their conversation.
Cindy's discovery leads to a brutal ultimatum
Immediately suspicious that there is more to the situation than Priya is letting on, Cindy decides to do some digging. She makes it her mission to track down the paternity test and eventually gets her hands on it, discovering the bombshell truth about the baby’s father.
Armed with information that could tear Priya and Ravi’s lives apart, Cindy wastes little time in using it to her advantage. She confronts Priya and delivers a brutal ultimatum: leave Walford or risk having her secret exposed.
Priya initially prepares to go, but her plans soon come to Ravi’s attention, along with the fact that Cindy has been threatening her. It isn’t long before Ravi starts putting the pieces together and reaches the devastating realisation that the baby Priya is carrying isn’t actually his.
Ravi's world comes crashing down
Heartbroken by the betrayal, Ravi storms off as his world comes crashing down around him. Priya, meanwhile, refuses to be driven out of Albert Square and tells Cindy that she has decided to stay in Walford.
However, an encounter with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) later leaves her questioning whether remaining in the Square really is the right thing to do. Despite being crushed by what he has discovered, Ravi is faced with a huge decision over what happens next.
After receiving encouragement from Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota), he approaches Priya and begs her not to leave. In an emotional turnaround, Ravi promises that he is willing to raise Priya’s unborn baby as his own despite discovering that he isn’t the biological father.
Cindy's warning looms large
But with Cindy now knowing their secret, keeping the truth contained may prove impossible. And she makes that very clear to Ravi when she warns him that the baby’s true paternity won’t remain hidden forever.
The explosive drama comes as tensions involving Cindy are already reaching a boiling point elsewhere in Walford. Her feud with Max Branning (Jake Wood) erupts spectacularly in The Vic, where Cindy publicly declares war and demands everything he owns.
For Ravi, however, the consequences of his own family bombshell could prove particularly painful. He’s gone from excitedly preparing to tell Nugget and Avani about the new addition to their family to discovering that the child he thought was his belongs to somebody else.
And while his extraordinary promise to stand by Priya suggests he isn’t ready to give up on their family, Cindy’s warning leaves a huge question hanging over them. With the truth threatening to spread around Albert Square and Ravi facing an exit, just how much more will he lose before he goes?
