Tooting stabbing: Man injured, no arrests made

A man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds following an attack in South London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police Discover Victim on Mitcham Road

Metropolitan Police officers were called to Mitcham Road in Tooting at approximately 3.25am on Sunday, January 18, following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered a 38-year-old male victim at the scene.

The injured man was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital accident and emergency department for treatment. A police spokesperson confirmed that his injuries have been assessed and are neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

Extensive Crime Scene in Place

In response to the incident, police established a substantial cordon along Mitcham Road as forensic investigations got underway. The sealed-off area was reported to stretch from outside a McDonald's restaurant, across an alleyway known as Salvador, and down the road past a Snappy Snaps store.

Pictures from the scene showed a police van and car stationed close to Tooting Broadway Underground station. Despite the significant police presence, Mitcham Road was reported to be open to traffic in both directions by Sunday lunchtime.
